Scholarships

As a nonprofit, private college in Michigan, we are committed to making your degree affordable through a robust selection of Baker College scholarships and financial aid packages designed for every type of student.

A few scholarships we award: 

  • Baker Transfer Platinum Scholarship: $9,000 per year for up to 4 years, maximum value $36,000 (for eligible students).

  • Baker Bright Futures Scholarship: Specifically tailored for adult learners in Michigan, this award supports students returning to college five or more years after high school graduation or previous college enrollment.

  • BC Housing Scholarship: up to 50% reduction in housing. 

  • Depend of Active Military Scholarship: $1,500 er year for up to 5 years, maximum value $7,500.

  • Esports Varsity Scholarship: up to full tuition, housing and books.

BeFree Tuition Eligibility

Whether you are a first-year student, a recent high school graduate, a transfer, an adult with minimal college experience, or have an associate’s degree from another institution, you may be eligible for the BeFree Tuition guarantee.

Applicants must:

  • Be an undergraduate student
  • Be pursuing a credentialed certificate, associate’s or bachelor’s degree
  • Have not previously earned a bachelor’s degree
  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Qualify for the maximum Federal Pell Grant award amount (typically income below $50,000, but varies based on family size and other information from the FAFSA application)
  • Have a high school or college cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Attend at least half-time
  • Institutional fees not included

Note: Tuition Assistance (TA) is only authorized for tuition charges up to $250 per semester credit hour for undergraduate courses and up to $370 per semester credit hour for master degree courses. TA does not cover doctorate program costs or fees, such as the technology fee, course fees, or books/supplies.

We strive to keep our fees low.

That’s why we don’t charge an application fee or extra fees if you’re an online or out-of-state student. No parking fees either.

Fees that apply:

  • Technology Fee: $350 per semester for undergraduates / $375 per semester for graduate students.
  • Course/Lab Fees: Only apply to specific high-resource programs. For example, Culinary courses carry a $145 to $440 fee per course to cover uniforms and professional knife sets, while core Nursing courses have a $620 fee for professional software and supplies.

*** Qualified students who are eligible for the maximum Pell Grant and enroll in an undergraduate program (associate degree, bachelor degree, or a credentialed certificate program) as a new student at Baker College may have their standard tuition costs covered for up to 5 years. This is funded through a combination of the Pell Grant, other federal and state grants the student qualifies for, and institutional funds. Students attending The Culinary Institute of Michigan, The Auto Diesel Institute of Michigan or College of Nursing programs will be responsible to pay specialty program tuition costs that exceed standard tuition costs.
