Associate of Applied Science in Surgical Technology

Take your place on the front lines of surgical healthcare with the skills, insights, and credential you’ll earn in the 67-credit-hour Associate of Applied Science in Surgical Technology from Baker College.

As a surgical technologist, you’ll provide expertise in instrumentation, equipment, and surgical supplies to help contribute to the success of an operation and better patient outcomes. Prepare to sit for the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting Certified Surgical Technologist exam with a program that combines classroom theory and hands-on learning experiences in compliance with the Core Curriculum for Surgical Technology (7th Edition). Coursework covers asepsis, sterile techniques, pathophysiology, surgical procedures, clinicals, and other essentials for assisting surgeons and other surgical team professionals in the operating theater. Programmatically accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
