Baker College offers interdisciplinary programs for General Studies to help you build a solid educational foundation of science, math, composition, reasoning, and critical-thinking skills while simultaneously working to develop and refine the professional skills for communication, problem solving, and collaboration that can help you excel in any industry. Upon completing your program you’ll have the education and credentials you need to pursue your career goals or your next degree.
Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in General Studies
Designed to help students meet transfer requirements for colleges and universities in Michigan, this 60-credit-hour program offers a lot of learning flexibility to help you create the associate degree path you want. General education and Michigan Transfer Agreement requirements will help develop the foundational liberal arts with 15-credit-hours devoted to your choice of courses in social science, humanities, and natural science.
Bachelor of Science (BGS) in General Studies
Like the general studies associate degree program, your 120-credit-hour bachelor’s degree program gives you the freedom and flexibility to pick your learning path. Upon a strong liberal arts foundation, you will build your degree path with two concentrations and a host of elective credits. Business, psychology, marketing, health services administration are all options for you to create the degree you want to earn, for the career you want to pursue. The program is also a great opportunity for those who have already earned substantial college credits prior to enrolling in the program, as it can prepare anyone for a career change or advancement into graduate education.
