Degree Programs in Automotive and Diesel Services

The Auto/Diesel Institute of Michigan (ADI) on Baker College’s Owosso campus offers the resources and expert guidance you need to pursue a career as an automotive or diesel services tech. Featuring an industry relevant, 43,000-square-foot facility, ASE master certified instructors will help you learn what it takes to succeed in the industry using the same tools and equipment you’ll use on the job.

Both the Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Automotive Services Technology and the AAS in Diesel Service Technology programs offer the comprehensive education you need to start or advance your career in a field that mixes elbow grease with high-tech skills. Both programs are accredited by the ASE Education Foundation.

Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Automotive Services Technology

This 60-credit-hour associate degree program will help you prepare for a career as an automotive service tech. Coursework covers the basic theories and operating principles of vehicle systems to prepare you for eight ASE certification exams, from engine repair to engine performance. It also includes a 60 to 120-hour work experience to reinforce classroom learnings with real-world automotive applications.

Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Diesel Services Technology

Elevate your understanding of medium to heavy diesel maintenance and repair with this 60-credit-hour associate degree program. Coursework covers diesel engine theory, engine diagnostics, transmissions, brakes, and more to prepare you for certification exams in seven areas. Featuring a 60 to 120-hour hands-on work experience, you’ll have the opportunity to apply what you learned in class to issues and problems in diesel maintenance and mechanics.
